Salt Lake City, Utah

Nestled at the foot of the rugged Wasatch mountains and extending to the south shore of the body of water for which it's named, Salt Lake City features one of the most scenic backdrops in the country.

Weather
Salt Lake is a huge attraction for both tourists and adventurers alike.The weather in Salt Lake can change in a hurry. Storms blow in quickly, temperatures can drop instantly, and good weather can return just as fast. Salt Lake has a number of climate zones. You can experience different weather by just traveling a few miles.

The elevation in the mountains is about 10,000 feet, and the climate is similar to Alaska. The mountains also reach 60 to 70 inches of rainfall a year, most of that turns to snow. Ski Resorts receive about 40 feet of snow a year.

Spring is the most unpredictable time of year. It can be a nice sunny spring morning, and give way to a storm in the afternoon. If you like hot, dry and sunny weather, Salt Lake is the place to be for the summer. Temperatures can reach 100 or more for several days. Most people enjoy clear days and cool nights, which makes Salt Lake the best place to be in fall.

As a reflection of this growth, a small but dynamic skyline has sprouted, along with ever-widening rings of suburbia. Salt Lake City Metro population is 851,000 Utah's population tends to be younger (27.1), live longer (77.7), and have higher fertility rates (2.68) and more persons per household (3.13 persons) than other states. Utah's population growth of 29.6% more than doubled that of the nation (13.2%).
