Orlando, FL

Orlando, FL is best known for its various tourist attractions in the area. As one of the most visited cities in the United States, Orlando thrives on the business of tourism today. In 1872, however, the area wasn't quite as busy. The first people to settle the newly incorporated city of Orlando were Army personnel who had been stationed at the Pine Castle AAF. After World War II was over some of these servicemen chose to settle in the area and raise their families.

Employers
There is no disguising the fact Orlando is a city built on theme parks ? lots of them. Until 1966, there was precious little here in central Florida, but growth has spiralled thanks to a huge influx of tourists to Walt Disney World there by making it the largest employer of the city ,it provides 53,000 jobs, followed by Florida Hospital (12,808), Universal Orlando (12,000), Orlando Regional Healthcare (12,000), and Lockheed Martin (5,053). The Orange County Public School system is the largest government employer with 25,000 employees.
