Nashville could not b described better than the word of Alexis de Tocqueville in Journey to America 1831 "After Nashville, not a town on the way. Nothing but a few villages, scattered here and there, all the way to Memphis"

Population
The population of the Nashville-Davidson Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) was estimated by the Census Bureau at 1,288,051 residents as of July 2003. That was an increase of 1.4 percent from a year earlier and an increase of 4.6 percent since the 2000 Census. The current rate of population change between 1990-00 (over two percent per year), if continued, would result in a population in 2025 of 2,150,600 residents. That is 74.7 percent larger than the 2000 population.

White: 4,563,310 (80.2%); Black: 932,809 (16.4%); American Indian: 15,152 (0.3%); Asian: 56,662 (1.0%); Other race: 56,036 (1.0%); Two or more races: 63,109 (1.1%); Hispanic/Latino: 123,838 (2.2%). 2000 percent population 18 and over: 75.4; 65 and over: 12.4; median age: 35.9.

Tennessee is a leading tobacco-producing state. Other farming income is derived from livestock and dairy products, as well as greenhouse and nursery products and cotton.The main industries in the area are mainly Energy, petroleum, aerospace, manufacturing, technology, tourism, and conventions.The major employers of the city :-

Another reason Nashville is a great place to live is that the weather is quite mild. For example, the average high in the middle of winter is generally above freezing, and the average yearly snowfall rarely tops six or seven inches. Moreover, if you've never been to Nashville in the autumn, you are missing out on some of the most beautiful shades of orange, yellow, brown, and red that you have ever seen atop a tree. Springtime in Nashville has its fair share of showers, but it's all worth it when you see the beautiful summertime foliage.
